Emergency Care

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Howard University Hospital provides full service emergency care of both pediatric and adult patients that are sick or have been injured. Our department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and receives more than 60,000 patient visits annually. We train physicians, nurses and other health professionals in emergency care and conduct research of emergency conditions that promote patient centered care.
