About Mosunmola Oyawusi
Dr. Mosunmola Oyawusi was raised in Newark New Jersey. She attended Montclair State University for her undergraduate education and earned a degree in Biological Sciences. She earned her medical degree at Howard University College of Medicine. Dr. Oyawusi completed her adult neurology residency at Howard University Hospital. She went on to continue post doc training and research at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange New Jersey. Thereafter she worked as an attending physician in Geisinger Medical Center in Danville Pennsylvania and Meadville Medical Center in Meadville Pennsylvania.
In 2018, Dr. Oyawusi returned to Howard University College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor and the Clerkship Director for Howard University Department of Neurology. Dr. Oyawusi has also had the opportunity to speak nationally about the impact of stroke and other neurodegenerative disorders on medication management and rehabilitation for stroke survivors.
Her interests include stroke, student and resident education, the integration of spirituality in medicine, and collaborative care.
