About Jensara Clay
Jensara Clay, M.D., is a member of the Howard University Hospital Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS). She completed her medical school and residency training at the University of California, San Francisco. She cared for patients for several years as an academic general OB-GYN at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and then returned to training to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Clay is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).
Dr. Clay’s surgical practice focuses on minimally invasive procedures for a variety of complex benign gynecologic conditions, including endometriosis, large uteruses, prior abdominal surgery, and pelvic pain. She specializes in the management of abnormal menstrual bleeding, adenomyosis, advanced-stage endometriosis, and fibroids, including alternatives to hysterectomy. She is dedicated to providing laparoscopic, robotic-assisted laparoscopic, and vaginal surgery for all patients.
She is passionate about surgical education for OB-GYN residents and medical students. She currently serves as the associate residency program director for the Howard University OB-GYN program and has previously served as the associate clerkship director for the medical students completing their OB-GYN core clerkship at Johns Hopkins. She has completed the surgical coaching program with the Academy for Surgical Coaching. She has received multiple teaching awards for her work with residents and medical students.
