The Division of General Internal Medicine at Howard University Hospital specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions that affect adults ages 18 and older. General internists are doctors equipped to deal with any medical issue or problem – no matter how common, rare or complex. Our general internists take pride in caring for adult patients throughout the many stages of life. When other specialists, such as surgeons or neurologists are involved, we coordinate and manage our patients' care every step of the way.
