Conditions We Treat

We provide state-of -the-art clinical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment services to patients with a variety of respiratory disorders.
These include:

Asthma

Asthma is a common chronic inflammatory disease of the airways.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases (COPD)

COPD is an obstructive lung disease characterized by chronically poor airflow. Pulmonary vascular diseases. Pulmonary vascular diseases are disorders affecting blood circulation in lungs.

Sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory cell growth in lungs.

Lung masses and nodules

Lung masses and nodules may be benign or may indicate the presences of lung cancer.

Pleural diseases

Pleural diseases include: pleurisy, pleural effusion, pnemothorax, hemothorax, pleural tumors.

Interstitial lung diseases

Interstitial lung diseases are disorders causing progressive scarring of lungs.

Respiratory infections

Infections in the respiratory tract including pneumonia and tuberculosis

Acute Respiratory Failure

Acute respiratory failure is the result inadequate exchange of oxygen in the lungs.

Shock

Shock is a condition with very low blood pressure and poor blood flow to the various organs in the body.

Multi-system Organ Dysfunction Syndrome

Multi-system Organ Dysfunction Syndrome may result from serious infections or injuries causing one or more body organs to fail.

Diagnostic Services

Our pulmonary function laboratory provides testing with state-of–the-art equipment, including our six-minute walk testing machine, which is helpful in evaluating respiratory function during exercise. We emphasize patient education and counseling to ensure patients understand their disease process and diagnostic and treatment plans. Inpatient diagnostic evaluation of onset respiratory disorders include:

  • Ultrasound guided diagnostic thoracentesis
  • Endobronchial ultrasound  (EBUS)
  • Lymph node biopsy (EBUB)

Treatments & Procedures

A modern surgery area allows us to perform the following outpatient services:

  • Flexible bronchoscopy
  • Transbronchial lung biopsy
  • Endobronchial biopsies
  • Bronchoalveolar Lavage (BAL)
  • Therapeutic thoracentesis
  • Thoracotomy drainage tubes and catheters
  • Ultrasound guided procedures in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
