Personal Health Records
Howard University Diabetes Treatment Center is the only diabetes care team to offer personal health records that is integrated with your electronic medical record. Patients are able to access their medical charts created in the Diabetes Treatment Center via the web that is secure. Patients can add information to their personal health record and share it with family members or other health professionals. Vital Signs, labs and medication are populated in their personal health records. These benefits are just one of the reasons our center was recognized as a Diabetes Center of Excellence by Global Technology Community for our innovative technology services in 2012.

Education Web Portal
As part of our Diabetes Self-Management Program, we are the only center in the area to provide free access to an education web portal for patients to get diabetes information that is vetted from a diabetes healthcare professional. Patients can sign up to our educational web portal to learn more about their diabetes and receive text or email reminders for their appointments. Patients can also exchange brief messages via secure web portal with their doctor. These benefits are just one of the reasons we were recognized as a Diabetes Center of Excellence by Global Technology Community for our innovative technology services in 2012.
