Nurse Educator Track

The Nurse Educator Track is offered online and is designed to prepare registered nurses who have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Master of Science in Nursing Degree to teach in academic and clinical settings, including staff development, continuing education and community education programs. The programs of study options include a Master of Science in Nursing degree and a Post-Master’s Certificate as a Nurse Educator.

The Master of Science in Nursing degree option consists of 39 semester hours and the Post-Master’s Certificate option consists of 16 semester hours. Full-time and part-time plans of study are available for both options. In addition, the proposed plan of study for the Post-Master’s Certificate is one calendar year for full and part-time students.

Upon successful completion of the requirements of a program of study and the necessary years of full-time teaching experience in an academic role, graduates are eligible to sit for the National League for Nursing Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) Examination.
