The Department of Nutritional Sciences has four undergraduate programs resulting in the BS degree in Nutritional Sciences. The curricula for the four emphases are as follows:
The Coordinated Dietetic Program offers a combination of didactic and experiential education which allows graduates to write the Registration Examination for Dietitians following graduation. The program, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics, allows for the mastery of the foundation knowledge and skills competencies for entry-level dietitians. Classroom learning is combined with 1200 hours of supervised practice.
- The Community Nutrition option prepares students for positions as community nutritionists with private and government agencies.
- The Pre-medicine and Pre-dentistry options focus on preparing students for entry into medical and dental schools.
