Chair's Welcome

Welcomes to the Department of Nutritional Sciences at Howard University.

The Department of Nutritional Sciences is located in the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, and provides our students with a challenging educational program.  Nutritional sciences has emerged and now plays a significant role in the health sciences, health disparities, and public policy.

Our program effectively integrates these multiple disciplines by providing students with an exceptional, collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to nutrition education and research by offering students admitted to this Department with opportunities to pursue the Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctoral Degrees in Nutritional Sciences.

The Nutritional Sciences Department values diversity in people, cultures, learning, and science. Collaboration with experts in medicine, biomedical sciences, cellular and molecular biology, the United States Department of Agriculture’s Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center, and multiple disciplines within the field of agricultural, consumer, and environmental sciences is important and routine for students and faculty to promote health, wellness, and reduce nutrition-related health disparities.

We encourage you to browse the Department’s website in order to explore all of our opportunities to learn and discover. For additional questions or concerns, feel free to contact us.
