Afghan Delegation Visits HUH, Health Sciences 

WASHINGTON - Howard University Hospital and Howard University Health Sciences hosted a delegation of 13 healthcare professionals from Afghanistan to discuss reproductive health on Aug. 11.

The meeting at Howard University focused on women’s health, emergency care, and hospital administration. The group toured the Department Obstetrics and Gynecology, labor and delivery unit HUH, the Emergency Department and the Howard University Health Sciences Simulation Center.

The Afghan visitors traveled to the United States under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to undertake a 21-day study project to showcase grassroots, academic, and government programs that support women’s health. Their program is part of a tri-lateral initiative between the U.S., Afghanistan, and China.
